The Spears School of Business Hall of Fame will induct Greg Everett, Neil Hansen and Kenneth Mitchell on Oct. 9 at the ConocoPhillips Oklahoma State University Alumni Center.

Established in 1964, the Spears Business Hall of Fame recognizes graduates and friends of the business school who have demonstrated leadership in their professions and a strong commitment to the college. Hall of Fame induction is the highest honor Spears Business can bestow.

“We look forward to inducting Greg Everett, Neil Hansen and Kenneth Mitchell into our Hall of Fame,” said Dr. Jim Payne, Spears Business dean. “Throughout their careers, all three honorees have distinguished themselves as dynamic business leaders and keepers of the Cowboy Code. We thank these remarkable alumni for their sustained commitment to Spears Business and OSU.”

Ryan Freeman, Eric Hulshizer and Aaron Wilson will receive Outstanding Young Alumni awards at the Hall of Fame banquet.

Greg Everett, ’87, ’89

Everett co-founded Payer Compass in 2013, serving as president and CEO from inception until the company’s sale in 2022.

The healthcare reimbursement technology and service company grew exponentially under his leadership, serving thousands of clients that include Stillwater Medical Center and American Airlines in Oklahoma.

A two-time OSU graduate, Everett obtained his bachelor’s degree in English with a business minor in 1987 and his MBA from Spears Business in 1989. He was an OSU track and cross country walk-on and served as a resident assistant in Willham South and Iba Hall.

Everett’s first job out of college was in Tulsa, where he worked for a healthcare IT company with progressive experience on the payer and provider sides for over 20 years. In 2010, he set out on his own as an entrepreneur.

In 2022, Everett was inducted as one of OSU’s College of Arts & Sciences Distinguished Alumni. In 2021 and 2023, he was selected for the Cowboy100, which honors the top businesses led or owned by OSU alumni.

Everett and his wife, Shannon, serve on the National Campaign Committee for The Code Calls campaign. They recently established a generous gift to create the Greg & Shannon Everett Scholars Program for high-achieving students who exhibit the essence of the Cowboy Code through community service.

The Everetts have also established several endowed scholarships across OSU, supporting entrepreneurship, business, veterinary medicine and the entire university.

Everett has two kids, Hayden and Hallie. He and Shannon live in McKinney, Texas, and enjoy competing in ballroom dancing and traveling.

Neil Hansen, ’97

Hansen serves as senior vice president and chief financial officer of Exxon Mobil Corporation, where he has advanced his career globally for over 26 years.

In 1997, Hansen graduated from Spears Business with his bachelor’s degree in marketing. He also holds a master’s degree in accounting from the University of St. Thomas and an MBA in finance from the Thunderbird School of Global Management.

Hansen started his career with ExxonMobil in 2000 in Houston as a financial analyst in exploration. From 2002-06, he held analyst and financial supervisory positions in upstream production before moving to Sakhalin, Russia, where he served as the financial reporting manager until 2008.

Following an assignment as the audit division manager for U.S. Chemical in Houston, Hansen moved to the corporate headquarters in Irving, Texas, in 2009 as a senior financial advisor and subsequently held multiple manager positions.

Hansen’s leadership roles then carried him abroad again. In 2014, he moved to Bangkok and served as the lead country manager and business services manager. After transitioning back to Texas-based roles, he was appointed to vice president of fuels for Europe, Africa and Middle East, based in Brussels.

Prior to his current role, Hansen served as president of Global Business Solutions from May 2025-January 2026.

Passionate about student access and affordability, Hansen has given back to the OSU Alumni Association and the entire university. In 2008, Spears Business honored him with the Outstanding Young Alumni award.

Hansen and his wife, Natalie, have a daughter and a son. His father, Don Hansen, is a Spears Business professor emeritus of accounting.

Kenneth Mitchell, ’61

With a career spanning over six decades, Mitchell has navigated the worlds of international military service, large-scale agriculture, multi-state business operations and dedicated civic leadership.

The cornerstone of his professional life is Mitchell Farms, established in 1952 by his father, Roy.

In 1961, Mitchell graduated from Spears Business with his bachelor’s degree in accounting. While at OSU, he participated in the ROTC program, preparing himself for two years as a lieutenant in the United States Army.

Mitchell returned home and worked with his family for decades to expand Mitchell Farms to 35,000 acres. The extensive farming operation produces corn, milo and wheat across Oklahoma and Kansas.

In 1985, Mitchell joined his father and several other local farmers to organize and found the First National Bank of Elkhart in Kansas. In 2005, Mitchell and his wife, Linda, and their children — Brian, Brent and Kendra — founded Mitchell Theatres.

Today, the company operates 107 screens in 15 movie theater locations across seven states and includes two shopping centers, providing entertainment and economic vitality to numerous communities.

Mitchell gives back to OSU and provides four-year scholarships to students from the Oklahoma Panhandle and western Oklahoma, ensuring local youth have the opportunity to pursue higher education. His civic leadership positions have included school board service and Chairman of the Board of Trustees for Morton County Hospital.

In 2025, Mitchell Family Park was dedicated in honor of the Mitchells’ enduring legacy and contributions to their hometown of Elkhart, Kansas. Mitchell takes pride in his children’s and grandchildren’s educational achievements, with OSU degrees among them.
