Area of expertise/research/study:
Bioprocess Engineering. My research focuses on improving existing and developing new bioprocessing technologies; examining potential of non-food biomass as biofuel and bioproduct feedstocks; and advancing utilization of by-products/waste streams for biofuel production and value-added product development.

What is the most satisfying aspect of teaching?
I love watching my students develop new skills, specifically critical thinking skills, learn about new subjects and pursue successful careers after they graduate.
