Cara Eubanks has been appointed the new director of the Boone Pickens Legacy Experience.

Eubanks is an Oklahoma State University alumna who earned both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in history and has remained an active member of the Cowboy family. She has been the associate director of development at the OSU Foundation, the academic programs coordinator for the School of Global Studies, and an undergraduate admissions counselor at OSU.

Eubanks takes over for Terry Tush, who has been the director since the BPLE’s opening in spring 2025. As the BPLE director, Eubanks can combine her dedication to OSU and her love for history.

The BPLE is an interactive exhibit of T. Boone Pickens’ accomplishments and dedication to OSU. Over the course of his lifetime, the philanthropist donated $652 million to OSU athletics and academics. The experience seeks to honor his legacy. Eubanks hopes that the museum can inspire the next generation of philanthropists.

“Not everyone can give away millions of dollars, but one of the principles that Boone talks about is that there are a lot of ways to give, ” she said. “Sometimes it's money, and sometimes it's your time. And I think that's something that I hope the museum can showcase to students … and community members.”

Through his service to OSU, Pickens represented OSU’s mission as a land-grant university. Eubanks aims to share that message with visitors of the BPLE.

“His philanthropy definitely showcases his servant’s heart, and that is the intent of this university as a land-grant institution. We must find how we can serve and give it our all, ” Eubanks said. “… That's what I really hope the legacy experience can do, by being another resource for our community and for our state, and encourage service and giving. ”

Eubanks hopes the experience can become a hub of creativity and leadership training in the coming years. It is welcoming all UNIV 1111 classes this year, as well as hosting the Stillwater Chamber of Commerce and College of Veterinary Medicine alumni. She hopes to strengthen partnerships with various K-12 programs and OSU students, athletics and academics.

“I take my new role in representing the BPLE with the utmost respect for Boone's life and legacy, and I hope to incorporate that in the experience,” she said.

The BPLE is located in the west end zone of Boone Pickens Stadium. It is open Tuesday-Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and admission is free.
