Forbes’ eighth annual Best In-State Employers ranking was recently released, naming Oklahoma State University-Stillwater as a top 20 Oklahoma employer.
Among Oklahoma employers, OSU ranked No. 11. The recognition places OSU in the highest-ranked employers statewide and highlights the university's continued focus on fostering a positive workplace culture, employee development and a mission-driven work environment.
“The Cowboy Code is the foundation upon which we live, learn and work at Oklahoma State University,” OSU President Jim Hess said. “Its values guide us to dream big as we show up in our work each day. This recognition reflects our commitment to recruiting, retaining and developing talented faculty and staff while creating a workplace where people can thrive. We are grateful for every member of the Cowboy family whose contributions make OSU a great place to work and learn.”
To create the list, Forbes partnered with Statisa to survey more than 245,000 employees who work for a U.S. company employing at least 500 people. Responses were considered along with results from the past three years.
Christa Louthan, OSU associate vice president and chief human resources officer, said the ranking is indicative of the people who work for the institution.
“OSU employees and their dedication to the university’s mission are key to making this a great place to work,” Louthan said. “National recognition of the work our faculty and staff put in each day is a testament to their commitment to serving our students, advancing research and supporting communities across Oklahoma.”
This honor joins other notable Forbes rankings lists recognizing OSU, including Best Employers for New Grads 2026, America’s Best Midsize Employers 2026, America’s Dream Employers 2025 and Best Employers for Veterans 2024.
