OSU faculty ranked among the best researchers

The Stanford/Elsevier Top 2% Scientists List comprehensively assesses peer-reviewed research across all scientific disciplines. It evaluates each study's impact, considering factors such as citation frequency in other scientific work. This publication ranks research that has made the most profound contributions within each field.

Oklahoma State University had authors listed from the College of Arts and Sciences, Spears School of Business, Ferguson College of Agriculture, the College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology, the College of Education and Human Sciences, the College of Veterinary Medicine; and from the Center for Health Sciences.

Stanford University collaborates with Elsevier, a Dutch publishing and analytics company, to compile the annual list. The rankings are based on data from Scopus, a source-neutral abstract and citation database.

Each scientist receives a score derived from various metrics, including the h-index, which measures an author's impact and productivity, and adjusted citation counts. Researchers are categorized into 22 scientific fields and 174 sub-fields following the standard Science-Metrix classification.
