Oklahoma State University recently selected the Wentz and Purdie Research scholars for the upcoming academic year.

In total, 44 Wentz Research Scholars and five Purdie Research Scholars were selected for these competitive awards based on research proposals developed under the guidance of a faculty mentor.

The Wentz Research Scholars program is funded, in part, by the Lew Wentz Foundation and administered by OSU’s Henry Bellmon Office of Scholar Development and Undergraduate Research. Awardees will receive a $6,000 scholarship to conduct their research project over the course of the next academic year.

Purdie Research Scholars are selected from the same applicant pool but undergo additional review if they are majoring or minoring in Geology, Chemistry or Physics. The five Purdie Research Scholars are all from the College of Arts and Sciences at OSU and will each receive an $8,000 scholarship. The program honors former OSU faculty member Dr. Neil Purdie.

Both sets of scholars will present their projects and results at the Wentz and Purdie Research Scholars Symposium in April 2027.
