Andrew Ranson has spent much of his career helping connect Oklahoma businesses and communities with partners and opportunities around the world.

Recently, his work was recognized with the 2026 Global Lifetime Achievement Award from Oklahoma City Sister Cities International.

Ranson, director of Oklahoma State University’s Wes Watkins Center for International Trade Development, received the award during a gathering at the Oklahoma Governor’s Mansion honoring individuals who have helped strengthen Oklahoma’s international connections.

Ranson has led the Center for International Trade Development since 2019, working to expand international trade opportunities and help Oklahoma businesses navigate global markets. He also serves as president of the Global Oklahoma board of directors.

His international experience stretches back much further. Early in his career, Ranson worked with the Boston Consulting Group in Hong Kong and in international import and export logistics in New York. He later held leadership roles in consulting, technology and business before joining OSU.

“This recognition reflects work that is deeply collaborative,” Ranson said.

Ranson credited the colleagues, board members, volunteers and partner organizations who have worked alongside him, including Global Oklahoma, the Wes Watkins Center for International Trade Development, OSU Global and the Oklahoma Department of Commerce.

Members of OSU Global, the CITD team, and the Global Oklahoma board joined Ranson’s family and friends at the Governor’s Mansion to celebrate the recognition.

“I look forward to celebrating alongside others who are helping build a more globally connected Oklahoma,” Ranson said.
