Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine, first-year student Rayne Cranford was recently named a recipient of a scholarship from the Morris Animal Foundation’s highly competitive Veterinary Student Scholar program.

This prestigious award provides veterinary students with the opportunity to engage in mentored research, advancing the health and well-being of a wide range of animal species.

Under the mentorship of Dr. Giovana Catandi, Cranford will participate in the Summer Research Training Program. His project will investigate the effects of intraovarian autologous PRP injections on follicular numbers and oocyte quality in aging mares.

“This award gives me the opportunity to pursue research I am truly passionate about,” Cranford said. “It will help me build the skills needed to become a successful veterinarian in a field I hope to serve for the rest of my life.”

The Morris Animal Foundation Veterinary Student Scholar program plays a vital role in preparing future veterinarians for success by supporting meaningful, mentored research experiences. The OSU College of Veterinary Medicine family is proud to see Cranford recognized for his dedication to learning and advancing animal health.
