Kids never forget the excitement of the first day of school, planning their outfits and packing their lunches. This year, however, many children across the country rolled out of bed and started their day in their pajamas at desks in their homes.

The Cowboy Way: Lee Manzer

A native of Hominy, Oklahoma, Manzer arrived at OSU in 1959. He completed his bachelor’s degree in chemistry, earned a master’s in business and later added a doctorate. After a stint at Dow Chemical, Manzer returned to OSU in 1975 to teach, and he’s been here ever since.

STILLWATER, Oklahoma – A spider wasp, scorpion and other creepy crawlies of the “extremely painful sting” variety had been elected by Wyatt Hoback’s Oklahoma State University entomology class: the stinging sensation winning the majority of the 270 student votes cast would get to puncture the teacher.
