Wednesday, May 15, 2013
Oklahoma State University’s Department of Management and the Center for Executive and Professional Development will host “Improving Your Business Processes & Project Management” on June 26-27 at the OSU-Oklahoma City campus.
This two-day seminar covers the basics of Business Process Improvement including: terminology, identifying and selecting projects, planning, management and execution, analysis and measurement. The session includes practical exercises and examples that can apply to both small and large businesses.
Participants may enroll in the first day of “Improving your Business Processes” or both days which includes the second session, “Project Management and Practical Application.”
The seminar’s objective is to provide participants with the basic tools to improve their businesses in meaningful ways. The result is lower costs, fewer errors, more efficient use of resources, better customer service and more engaged employees from applying these concepts to their business processes.
Marc Tower, adjunct instructor for the Department of Management in the Spears School of Business, will be leading the seminar. Tower is an OSU alumnus with a master’s degree in Electronic Engineering Technology and an MBA from the Spears School.
Having worked in the military, engineering, commercial software, construction and financial services, Tower has had an array of settings to apply the Business Process Improvement. He said the application process allows participants to take back a powerful combination to their organizations.
"The second day is a valuable add-on with practical project management guidelines and an opportunity to get hands on with your company's business processes," Tower said.
“Improving Your Business Processes & Project Management” will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at OSU-OKC, 900 N. Portland Ave., in Oklahoma City.
Participants can choose to enroll in both days for $790 or day one for $450. For multiple enrollments of three or more, registration is $375 per day, per person. Register online at http://cepd.okstate.edu/openenrollment/improving/.
