Management scholar Edward Lawler to speak at Oklahoma State on March 7

Edward E. Lawler III, a professor in the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business, will present “Management Reset” to the Oklahoma State University business community.

The presentation will be from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Thursday, March 7, in the Jones Conference Room of the ConocoPhillips OSU Alumni Center. The event is sponsored by the Ph.D. in Business for Executives program and the Department of Management of the Spears School of Business.

“This is a great opportunity to hear a renowned scholar discuss solutions to pressing business problems,” said Aaron Hill, assistant professor in the Department of Management. “This is applied research at the highest level.”

Lawler is known for his contributions to theory, research and practice in the fields of human resources management, compensation, organizational development and organizational effectiveness. He is the author of more than 350 articles and 45 books. His latest book, “Management Reset: Organizing for Sustainable Effectiveness,” is the topic of the presentation.

“It is a real treat to have Dr. Lawler on campus to share his expertise with the OSU community,” said Craig Wallace, research director of the Ph.D. in Business for Executives program. “It is a testament to the great success that the Ph.D. in Business for Executives program and the Department of Management in the Spears School of Business are experiencing to host such a tremendous scholar.”

Lawler has been proclaimed as one of the top six gurus in the field of management by BusinessWeek and one of HR’s most influential people by Human Resource Executive. He has made appearances on the Today Show, CNN, MSNBC and CNBC.
