Oklahoma State University will host 57th Annual OMCTFO

Oklahoma Municipal Clerks, Treasurers and Finance Officials AssociationOklahoma State University will host the 57th annual conference for the Oklahoma Municipal Clerks, Treasurers and Finance Officials Association in October in Stillwater, Okla.

The conference will be held at the Wes Watkins Center Oct. 23 through Oct. 25, with pre-conference sessions beginning on Oct. 22. Sessions will cover a wide range of topics, such as legislative updates, healthcare reform, customer satisfaction, and best practices for excellence.  

Some sessions participants have to look forward to are:

  • Living a Life Worth Living, Mike Crawford, chairman emeritus, Crawford & Associates, P.C.
  • Drop Box, Cloud, and Other Low-Cost Solutions, Ryan Rushing, IT director, City of Midwest City
  • Generational Issues – Is There a Difference, Andy Cromer, audit partner, Arledge and Associates
  • Planning for the Future, David Weatherford, attorney, Birmingham, Morley, Weatherford, & Priore
  • Navigating Through HR & Payroll, Chris Wolpert and Linda Wright, sales executives, ADP

Sessions on Tuesday, Oct. 22, and Wednesday, Oct. 23, will count toward participants’ Institute and Academy credit. Selected participants enrolled in the Institute receive credit toward national certification, and OSU’s Center for Executive and Professional Development in the Spears School of Business keeps the transcripts of the education toward this credit for the municipal clerks and treasurers in the state.

“Passport to Excellence is the theme for this year’s conference,” Judy Siemens, OMCTFOA president, said. “We hope our exciting sessions will motivate participants to excellence and they will take their insights gained from the conference back to their communities in an effort to better serve Oklahoma citizens.”

OMCTFOA has paired with the Oklahoma Municipal Assurance Group to provide a relaxing evening of entertainment and a banquet for the conference attendants on Thursday, Oct. 24. The banquet will boast decorations from various countries to correspond with the conference’s theme. The Stars, a local band from Oklahoma City, will be playing at the banquet and prizes will be given throughout the evening.

Activities will also include OMCTFOA’s Annual Business Meeting and free time in the evenings to enjoy Stillwater’s local shops and restaurants.

Registration before Oct. 11 is $199 per member of a sponsoring association or $209 for nonmembers. Registration after Oct. 11 is $209 for members of a sponsoring association or $224 for nonmembers. Hotel accommodations are reserved by participants.

Sponsoring associations include OMCTFOA, Oklahoma Association of Public Treasurers of the United States & Canada, and the Government Finance Officers Association of Oklahoma.
