OSU will host 13th annual Accounting and Financial Reporting Conference in Tulsa on Nov. 15

The Spears School of Business School of Accounting at Oklahoma State University will host the 13th annual Accounting and Financial Reporting Conference from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Nov. 15 in at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in downtown Tulsa. The corporate sponsors of the conference include Opportune (Platinum sponsor), BKD CPAs and Advisors (Gold sponsor), and Deloitte (Silver sponsor).
The conference is offered in cooperation with Financial Executives International. Participants receive eight hours of CPE credit including one hour of ethics.
These conferences bring together nationally recognized experts from the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB), and the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB), as well as a number of corporate finance executives and public accounting professionals to discuss current issues in the field of accounting and finance.
Charlotte Wright, Lanny G. Chasteen Chair and Professor in the School of Accounting, and. Robert Cornell, head of the School of Accounting and Anadarko Petroleum Chair, are coordinating the conference.

The conference agenda includes regulatory updates from Jonathan Duersch, associate chief accountant from the office of the chief accountant at the SEC, Daryl Buck, board member of the FASB, and John Fiebig, deputy director of inspections, PCAOB.
Shane Randolph, Opportune LLP, will provide critical information regarding the use of fair value accounting. Other topics include a variety of financial reporting and income tax issues as well as insights regarding detecting and investigating fraud. Speakers, panel participants and moderators are from BKD LLP, Chesapeake Energy, Ernst &Young, Grant Thornton LLP, Halliburton, ONEOK Inc., Opportune LLP, PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, and Williams.
