The Oklahoma State University Beta Alpha Psi (BAP) organization in the Spears School of Business successfully raised more than $4,000 to help the OSU Family Resource Center build a new playground.

The OSU Family Resources Center is in the process of building seven playgrounds. The $4,000 will greatly help the project.

BAP hosted the Turning Tables fundraising banquet in August to raise money. The organization paid for the banquet while 100 percent of the money paid by firms went to the OSU Family Resource Center. The recruiters that donated to the project included several public accounting firms and other companies within the region. Funds were also raised through BAP’s Golf Scramble event.

BAP raised the money with the help of several donors. BKD, EY, Grant Thorton and PwC each gave $400 donations. Cole & Reed, ConocoPhillips, Deloitte, Eide Bailly, Halliburton, Hogan Taylor, Koch, KPMG, Loves, Monika Turek, Phillips 66 and Whitley Penn each donated $200.

Monika Turek, BAP Chi Chapter adviser, is grateful for the kindness of these entities. “We could never have raised the money without the generosity of the firms that support our organization,” Turek said. “We are blessed with great alumni and great recruiters that are always happy to help a good cause.”

Beta Alpha Psi is an honorary organization for Financial Information students and professionals. The primary objective of BAP is to encourage and give recognition to scholastic and professional excellence in the business information field. This includes support for community programs through provision of professional and non-professional volunteer service; and encouragement of a sense of ethical, social and public responsibility.
