OSU's Online Master's in Entrepreneurship ranked No. 1 in nation for second time

The online Master’s in Entrepreneurship program offered by the School of Entrepreneurship in the Spears School of Business has been named the best in the United States for the second consecutive year, according to rankings published this month.

Oklahoma State University’s Master’s in Entrepreneurship online program is No. 1 in the nation in the rankings of the 20 Best Online MBA Entrepreneurship Programs as named by TheBestSchools.org, a website devoted to empowering students with information to assist them in selecting the best school and degree programs

“The (Oklahoma State) online Master’s in Entrepreneurship program covers the nature of entrepreneurship and the entrepreneurial process. The program combines core content with a strong commitment to experimental learning. It enhances student competencies in areas such as risk management, opportunity recognition, resource leveraging, business planning, and innovation. The online Master in Entrepreneurship degree program is part of the university-wide entrepreneurship emphasis at Oklahoma State University,” according to the TheBestSchools.org release in describing why OSU’s program was selected best in the nation.

The Spears School’s online master’s program was ranked first ahead of the University of Florida (No. 2), Washington State University (No. 3), Southern New Hampshire University (No. 4) and Drexel University Online (No. 5). Other schools in the rankings include Indiana University (No. 11), the University of North Carolina (No. 13) and Ball State University (No. 14).

“We are delighted to learn that the online Master’s in Entrepreneurship has for the second consecutive year been ranked number one in the nation. Beating out such schools as the University of Florida and Washington State for this honor is quite an accomplishment,” said Ken Eastman, interim dean for the Spears School.

“Dr. (Bruce) Barringer and the faculty of the School of Entrepreneurship are to be congratulated on their dedication and hard work. The Spears School of Business is a national leader in distance learning and we are gratified that other entities recognize the quality of our programs,” Eastman said.

The 20 Best Online MBA Entrepreneurship rankings are based on the following criteria: strong core curricula and creative approaches, program diversity and options offered, retention, completion and employment rates, reported student satisfaction, cost of programs and financial assistance, school’s prominence (determined by CTR rates, links and selections in other worthy rankings), and professional associations with corporations and businesses.
