OSU's Spears School of Business to host Women's Business Leadership Conference

Logo for Women's Business Leadership ConferenceThe 22nd annual Women’s Business Leadership Conference will be held Wednesday, March 6, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Tulsa. It is presented by the Spears School of Business at Oklahoma State University and the Oklahoma International Women’s Forum.

This conference brings in a variety of expert women leaders who share their experiences in the business world. Participants will learn more about moving toward their career goals, enhancing their leadership skills, and developing themselves and others.

Featured speakers include Tweet Coleman, aviation pioneer, FAA veteran, speaker and author. Coleman will speak on “International Leadership” using inspiring stories from global leaders to explain how to live life with purpose and passion. Connie Haynes, regional director of US FIRST Robotics, will share why making a difference in the lives of the next generation is so important in “Be an Agent for Change.”

Also, Linda Kissler, vice president of J.P. Morgan Private Bank, will discuss the significance of time as a tool for success in “Take Time to Think … It is the Source of Power.” Lisa Paterni, president of PITSCO Education, will share the success of her Kansas company’s HOT Goal Program, a platform that engages employees, and how to apply it anywhere in “HOT Goal Program Delivers Consistently Cool Results.” Margo Provost, founder of Log Haven Restaurant of Salt Lake City, Utah, will share how she overcame her fears and turned her dreams into reality with her personal story in “Turning Dreams into Reality.”

Rebecca Greenbaum, assistant professor of management in the Spears School of Business, is the moderator of the conference.

“Women already in the workforce, as well as those just starting their careers, can gain richer experiences along life’s path by listening to others. The Women’s Business Leadership Conference offers women this opportunity.” said Lou Kerr, president and chair of the Kerr Foundation, Inc., and chair and founder of the Oklahoma International Women’s Forum.

Dyan Gibbens, associate of Booz Allen Hamilton of Las Vegas, Madison Mullens, senior consultant of Booz Allen Hamilton of Midwest City, Okla., and Marcia Walker, retired colonel of the U.S. Air Force and senior aerospace instructor at Oklahoma City’s Carl Albert High School, will serve on a panel during lunch. They will discuss how to break into any type of business in “Being Successful in a Non-Traditional Industry.”

Registration for the Women’s Business Leadership Conference is $225 per person by Feb. 21. Registration is $250 after Feb. 21. Exhibit space and various conference sponsor levels are available.
