Jeretta Horn Nord, professor of management science and information systems at Oklahoma State University’s Spears School of Business, has been recognized as one of the Top 20 Women Professors in Oklahoma.

Nord has been a professor in the Spears School for more than 25 years. In her position, she has taught numerous management science and information systems, entrepreneurship and management classes. She has brought more than 150 speakers to her classrooms and written multiple journal articles, textbooks and other books, including a series entitled “A Cup of Cappuccino for the Entrepreneur’s Spirit,” which includes the Women’s Edition co-written with Lou Kerr.

Nord is one of four educators from Oklahoma State recognized as the Top 20 Women Professors in Oklahoma by StateStats.org and its partner website OnlineSchoolsOklahoma.com. The two sites set out to find post-secondary educators who had been recognized recently for excellence in the classroom, on campus and in the community.

“It is an honor to be recognized as one of the Top 20 Women Professors in Oklahoma,” said Nord. “I have been fortunate to have had the opportunity to learn from talented professionals and to have been in a position to help make a difference in the lives of students.”

Throughout her career, Nord has devoted her time to a number of roles in the Spears School. She has worked as the associate dean for the OSU business school, served as a Fulbright Specialists Scholar in Europe, presented papers at international conference in 20 countries, facilitated the OSU Women’s Business Leadership Conference, and co-founded and co-advised the OSU Chapter of the American Association for University Women. She is the executive editor for The Journal of Computer Information Systems.

In recent years, she established the Spears School Speaker’s Bureau in which distinguished guest speakers enhance the learning experience for students. Nord also has been involved in the development of the Spears School Mentorship Program, which provides an opportunity for associates, OSU alumni and other professionals to interact with graduates and undergraduates to offer professional advice, skills, support and coaching.
