The Governor’s Executive Development Program for State Officials is the perfect opportunity
for state employees to improve their knowledge and skills. The Ninth Annual Governor’s
Executive Development Program is scheduled July 28 through Aug. 1 at Oklahoma State
University.
This uniquely designed program was developed around five executive leadership competencies
for top-level state officials. It is presented by exceptional faculty members, whose
specific goals are to improve participants ability to lead change, lead people, achieve
results and build business acumen, coalitions and communication.
“This program provides state leaders a vehicle to create a dynamic culture to better
serve Oklahomans,” said Lisa Smith, executive director for the Oklahoma Commission
on Children and Youth.
The program features sessions from senior faculty members from OSU, the University
of Oklahoma, and American University in Washington, D.C. Faculty presenting the sessions
include Raja Basu, Matt Bowler, Ken Eastman, Lee Manzer, Alexis Smith, Tracy Suter
and Craig Watters from OSU; Ryan Bisel and Nim Razook from OU, and Patrick Malone
from American University.
The Governor’s Executive Development Program offers an outstanding educational experience
that helps participants improve the ways they think and make decisions. The program
facilitates the exchange of ideas in an interactive setting and provides the best
speakers and information possible with the merging of resources from OSU and OU.
“A fantastic learning experience,” said Jake Smith, compensation and classifications
manager at the Office of Management and Enterprise Services, after attending the conference
in 2013. “Collectively, this was the best group of speakers I have ever heard at a
conference. There is no doubt I’m leaving a better leader than I was when I arrived.”
Registrations received by June 13 are $2,700 per person. Registrations received between
June 14 and July 7 are $2,950 per person. Price includes instruction, refreshments,
