Oklahoma State University’s online MBA program was recently recognized as one of the
best in the nation and now it is earning another national honor in the 2015 Smart
Choice Best Online MBA Ranking.
The online MBA program in OSU’s Watson Graduate School of Management is No. 47 in
the rankings, which are designed to help students find a top online MBA program to
fit their career goals, budget, and schedule, according to the SuperScholar.org website.
For the 2015 Smart Choice Best Online MBA Ranking, each accredited online MBA program
was evaluated and ranked based on recognition and awards, accreditation, flexibility
and accessibility, number of specializations offered, and affordability. The ranking
targets students who want a high quality program but who value affordability, flexibility,
accessibility, and specialization options over prestige.
“OSU has been a leader in online education in general but we are particularly proud
of our graduate programs in the Spears School of Business,” said Ramesh Sharda, vice
dean of the Watson Graduate School of Management. “The online MBA program has served members
of industry and military in achieving their dream of earning a high quality, rigorous
MBA degree. We are proud of the accomplishments of our students and faculty.”
The recognition comes just weeks after the OSU online MBA was No. 15 in Top Management
Degrees ranking of the Top Online MBA Super Ranking 2014-2015, which combine the results
of six of the most influential business school and MBA rankings from around the world
to create the most comprehensive and holistic ranking of online MBA programs available.
In recent years OSU’s MBA program has been recognized for its excellence in a variety
of rankings. A story by U.S. News & World Report in 2013 showed that OSU was one of only four schools in the United States in which
100 percent of the full-time MBA students received jobs within three months after
graduation. Also, the program was ranked No. 10 as a Best Buy among the 139 competing
online MBAs from AACSC-accredited business schools.
The Top Management Degrees website states that “by bringing together MBA rankings
from US News and World Report’s Online Business School Ranking, Get Educated’s AACSB-Accredited
Online MBA Program Student Satisfaction Scores, Eduniversal’s Global Graduate Business
School Rankings, The Economist’s MBA Ranking, The Financial Times Online MBA Ranking, and The QS Online MBA Ranking, the subjective and idiosyncratic
elements of each publication’s methodology are smoothed out, providing a more accurate
and stable picture of the online MBA program landscape. The ranking results of each
publication were weighted the same to avoid interjecting our own subjective judgments
about which ranking is better.”
