Oklahoma State University’s Watson Graduate School of Management MBA program partnered with Coaches vs. Cancer to participate in the 2015 Sea of Orange homecoming parade.

Coaches vs. Cancer is a collaborative program between the American Cancer Society and the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC). The program was started to get basketball coaches and their communities involved with the fight against cancer.

This year, both the children and their families involved with Coaches vs. Cancer rode on the homecoming float and the orange bus, SlowPoke, with current Spears School of Business MBA students.

Coaches vs. Cancer participant Josey Inselman was one of the children who rode on the floats with the MBA students. First-year MBA student Holly Colpitt experienced the parade with Josey.

“The OSU Homecoming Parade will be a joyful memory of mine due to our partnership with Coaches vs. Cancer,” said Colpitt. “She (Josey) has tremendous spirit and I am so thankful to have had the opportunity to spend that morning with her, celebrating her life and perseverance."

Sarah Gile, first-year MBA student, also had the opportunity to interact with Josey.

“Little Josey was so fun to hang out with that morning and she had quite the determination to hand out a piece of candy to every single child throughout the parade, even if that meant falling a bit behind," said Gile.

CVC3Here at Oklahoma State, other athletic departments as well as members of the OSU community have lent a hand in the fight against cancer by participating in Coaches vs. Cancer events.

With the help of Jan Analla, the Watson Graduate School of Management Assistant Director and Coaches vs. Cancer committee member, the partnership was successful.

“I saw an opportunity for the two organizations to work together and have some fun celebrating and experiencing the wonderful Homecoming Parade tradition, said Analla.”

“The MBA students were really excited to have an opportunity to spend the morning with some really special kids and show how great it is to be a part of the Cowboy family.”
