The ranking was determined by five criteria: affordability, flexibility, program prominence, student success and related degrees. The ranking also took into consideration factors such as academic and counseling services, distance education enrollment and particular program options.

“OSU’s MS in MIS program provides a top-notch on-line experience for its students, providing them with relevant hands-on educational experiences in technology and the emerging field of data science and analytics,” said Rick Wilson, head of OSU’s Department of Management Science and Information Systems. “Our graduates are positioned to excel in the present and future global technology enabled business world.”

Based on its offerings and distinctions, the program is the second-most affordable program on the list. The program also earned a spot in the top 40 schools for the program prominence rating for its impressive offering of 17 online graduate degrees and its research facilities. OSU has conducted research projects in big data, cryptography and security, health data analytics and artificial intelligence, helping the program land in the top 10 for master’s in MIS.

The master’s in MIS program at OSU was started in 1998 and has expanded to include data science and business analytics options. The program is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.
