OSU online MBA program for business analytics ranks first in the nation

Oklahoma State University’s Spears School of Business was selected as the best online MBA program for business analytics in the nation by OnlineMBAToday.com.

Before launching the new Markting Analytics Certificate program in 2013, Spears offered certifications and coursework through the Graduate Certificate Programs in Business Data Mining and SAS® and OSU Data Mining Certificates for students with technical and programming background. Goutam Chakraborty, professor of marketing and director of the Graduate Certificate in Marketing Analytics program, saw the need for a program that met the needs of students without a technical or programing background.

“We wanted a program for students who want to be in analytics but may not have the technical background,” Chakraborty said. “These students want to be analyst and managers who use data analytic tools to produce business insights to bring business and its technical parts together. With this program and our partnership with SAS®, they’re able to do that – and it looks great on their resumes to have not only a certificate from the graduate college and the Spears School, but also from SAS®. It’s an incredible honor to receive this ranking and the award.”

This award continues to build the excellence of the analytics programs at OSU, which began more than 13 years ago.

Some requirements needed for this degree that can be completed in a 42-hour part-time track or a 43-hour full-time schedule include, a four-year undergraduate degree from an accredited university, a qualifying GMAT score, and a 3.0 GPA. While previous work history in the field is not required, it is encouraged as is experience in calculus and quantitative skills.
