Wednesday, September 28, 2016

Oklahoma State University’s School of Accounting is once again being recognized as one of the nation’s finest by its peers in the Public Accounting Report 35th Annual Professors Survey – 2016.

The School of Accounting is tied for No. 28 nationally in the Top 50 Undergraduate Rankings, and is eighth in the nation – first among Big 12 institutions – for undergraduate programs with 16 to 21 full-time accounting faculty. The OSU accounting program is No. 44 in the Top 50 Master’s Ranking of all schools.

The Public Accounting Report 35th Annual Professors Survey – 2016 is the nation’s only survey that allows accounting professors to rank the nation’s best accounting programs.

“We are pleased with the recognition the School of Accounting continues to receive regionally and nationally,” said Robert Cornell, head of the OSU School of Accounting. “Our faculty, staff, and alumni are committed to providing students with world-class educational opportunities with the expectation that they will be leaders in their professional and civic responsibilities. We believe that the land grant mission of Oklahoma State University provides exceptional value to Oklahoma as together we strive for excellence in teaching, scholarship, and outreach.”

OSU’s School of Accounting has been a fixture in the annual survey for many years, and was one of only three schools nationally that improved its ranking more than 10 spots from 2015 in the undergraduate rankings. The OSU program is tied at 28th with Arizona State University after being ranked 45th a year ago.

The annual professors survey provides faculty from across the United States with an avenue to express their views to accounting firms about campus recruiting. Nearly 1,000 accounting professors from more than 200 U.S. colleges and universities participated in the survey. The survey, conducted in April 2016, was open to professors of accounting at U.S. colleges and universities that offer accounting degrees.
