OSU Spears School of Business offering BEST Leaders program in Oklahoma City

BEST Leaders seriesThe Oklahoma State University Spears School of Business is proud to offer the Business Engagement Series for Thought (BEST) Leaders certificate program in Oklahoma City.

The BEST Leaders program focuses on engaged and thought-provoking topics to advance leaders in decision-making, company performance, efficiency and effective management. Participants will learn how to align interests with the goals of the company, use data to aid decision-making and improve company performance, increase productivity and manage effectively in various environments.

Speakers for this program include Andrew Urich, associate professor of management and Director of Student Development at the Eastin Center for Talent Development in the Spears School Business; Kenneth Eastman, dean of Spears School; Lee Manzer, professor of marketing in the Spears School, and Goutam Chakraborty, Ralph A. and Peggy A. Brenneman Professor in the Department of Marketing in the Spears School.

All sessions will be held at OSU-OKC and the schedule is as follows:

May 3, / 9 a.m.-4 p.m. –The Power of Influence with Andrew Urich, J.D.: This session will help participants develop the skills necessary to establish and maintain productive working relationships through lecture, discussion and exercises for practical application of the concepts.

June 1 / 9 a.m.-noon – Increasing Productivity through Accountability with Lee Manzer, Ph.D.: This session investigates how cultures are specifically created within organizations, how to recognize creation variables and what may be done to stem the growth of entitlement.

June 1 / 1-4 p.m. – From Traditionals to Millennials: with Ken Eastman, Ph.D.: In this session, you will consider ways to bridge the generational divide and explore how to communicate and establish a multi-generation working environment, including key strategies to managing these employees.

July 19 / 9 a.m.-4 p.m. – Understanding Business Analytics to Improve Company Performance with Goutam Chakraborty, Ph.D.: This one-day hands-on workshop using state-of-the art analytics software will break the myth that you have to be an IT or math/stat. person to use and appreciate analytics to improve company performance.
