OSU offering Innovation Series for Business

Innovation 2017 headerThe Spears School of Business will be hosting an OSU Innovation Series for Business at the OSU-OKC campus from July to September.

This series was created to help successful businesses stay competitive through innovation. The seminars will help participants learn how to continuously seek opportunities to create value in their organization. It is designed for leaders at all levels in any organization.

“Innovation is such an important piece of any business’ success,” said Bruce Barringer, department head in the School of Entrepreneurship in Spears Business. “Our faculty will provide practical and essential information on how organizations can use innovation to continue to thrive and excel in their industry.”

The Innovation Series for Business is a three-part seminar series.

  • Learning to Have an Innovative Mindset presented by Tom Westbrook, visiting professor in the School of Entrepreneurship from 1-4 p.m. July 19 and 9 a.m.-noon July 20. This two-part seminar on back-to-back days is designed to help participants with the creative process.
  • Innovating to Stay Ahead of the Competition – The Importance of a Lean Startup Mindset presented by Richard Gajan, Thoma Family Clinical Assistant Professor in the School of Entrepreneurship, from 9 a.m.-noon Aug. 23.
  • Managing Innovation presented by Durand Crosby, chief of staff and chief operating officer, Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services and adjunct professor in the Department of Management from 9 a.m.-noon Sept. 28.

If participants register for all three sessions they will receive a 10 percent discount and the fee will be $675 for 12 hours of instruction. If three or more people from the same company register for all three sessions, they will receive a 15 percent discount and registration will be $635 per person.
