Two seniors from the Spears School of Business have been named 2017 Outstanding Seniors by the Oklahoma State University Alumni Association.
The Outstanding Senior award recognizes seniors who excel through academic achievement; campus and community activities; academic, athletic or extra-curricular honors or awards; scholarships and work ethic during their time at OSU.
The Spears School of Business honorees with their hometowns and majors are:
Gerardo Rico Cervantes, Anadarko, Okla., marketing and international business
Tiffany Thurmond, Edmond, Okla., marketing and business management
“I am extremely humbled and honored to have been selected as an Outstanding Senior here at OSU. Being able to represent my family and my heritage really is an honor in itself, and I couldn't ask for a better way than this,” Rico said.
“If you fearlessly chase your dreams while focusing on your education, OSU will help you take your unique qualities to the next level,” Thurmond said. “I am so very thankful for this honor as it brings to reality the legacy that I aimed to leave here at OSU since the beginning of my freshman year.”
Sixteen seniors were chosen to receive the award by the OSU Alumni Association Student Awards and Selection Committee after it met with the 43 Seniors of Significance selected in the fall of 2016 and reviewed their applications.
A public banquet honoring the Outstanding Seniors will be held at 6 p.m. April 27 at the ConocoPhillips OSU Alumni Center in Stillwater. Tickets may be purchased online at orangeconnection.org/osdinner or by calling 405.744.3600. This program is sponsored by ISN.
