OSU, OU teaming up to offer Executive Development Program for State Officials

The Spears School of Business at Oklahoma State University and the University of Oklahoma are partnering together to offer the 13th Annual Executive Development Program for State Officials in Oklahoma City on July 16-20. The four-and-a-half day executive program will be held at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center PHF Conference Center.

Specifically tailored to state officials, this unique program is designed around five executive leadership competencies – business acumen, leading change, leading people, results driven and building coalitions/communication. OSU and OU faculty will discuss these leadership competencies and how to apply the competencies in real-life situations.

The session topics and instructors for the program are:

  • “The Rise and Fall of Entitlement: Creating a Culture of Accountability” and “Storytelling to Enhance Organizational Performance” by Lee Manzer, Ph.D., Marketing, OSU;
  • “DiSCover Your Leadership Strengths” and “From Traditionals to Generation Z: Leading Generations at Work” by Ken Eastman, Ph.D., Dean, OSU Spears School of Business;
  • “Performance Management” by Bryan Edwards, Ph.D., Associate Professor, Management, OSU;
  • “Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Key Factors” by Mac McCrory, Ed.D., OSU Adjunct Management;
  • “Emotional Intelligence: Competencies of Star Performers” by Lex Smith-Washington, Ph.D., Assistant Professor, Management, OSU;
  • “Developing Influence in Public Sector Organizations” by Raj Basu, Ph.D., Associate Professor, Management, OSU;
  • “Building Powerful Communication Skills” by Ryan Bisel, Ph.D., Associate Professor, Organizational Communication, OU;
  • “Managing Ethical Challenges” by Meagan Baskin, OU Ph.D. Graduate and UCO Assistant Professor of Management, and
  • “Organizational Problem Solving Using Action Learning” by Patrick Malone, Ph.D., American University.

An early bird registration fee of $2,650 per person is available until June 14.  After June 14, the fee is $2,850 per person. The fee includes instruction, refreshments, two lunches, an opening night reception, and all electronic program materials.
