Stacie Pace has been promoted to associate director at Canopy HealthTech and will remain officed within Oklahoma State University’s Center for Health Systems Innovation (CHSI). Canopy HealthTech is a partnership between OSU, the University of Oklahoma and the University of Tulsa.

“We are excited about the formation of Canopy HealthTech to integrate our collective efforts in virtual health across OSU, OU and TU,” said Dr. William Paiva, executive director of CHSI. “We are even more ecstatic that Stacie will continue to have a tight working relationship with CHSI. It’s a perfect fit given our focus on deploying innovative health care solutions in the rural and Native American markets. Clearly, virtual health is one of our major arrows in our quiver.”

Stacie PaceCanopy HealthTech is a new Tulsa-based multi-year initiative, sponsored by the George Kaiser Family Foundation, to accelerate the commercialization of virtual health innovations for Oklahoma universities. The program will catalyze start-up growth and improve health care outcomes by supporting the development of critical virtual health technologies that address significant health care delivery gaps.

Pace has been with OSU CHSI since 2017 as the director of the Rural Oklahoma Network (ROk-Net), a practice-based research network of rural primary care physicians. In her role with ROk-Net, Pace helped rural health care centers build, access and share resources and technical assistance that improve care in rural communities and support the practices of rural providers.

“I’m excited about this promotion to this new role that after working with rural populations I believe will provide generational value to Oklahomans,” Pace said.

“Stacie’s legacy of work with rural health, along with her vast knowledge and experience in economic, business and healthcare development are a perfect addition to the Canopy team,” said Dr. Rachel Lane, executive director of Canopy. “With Stacie, Canopy will further fast-track innovation from our university partners into startups that build an industry hub for virtual healthtech in Tulsa.”

Pace sits on the Rural Health Association of Oklahoma Board of Directors, MyHealth Access Board of Directors and the Oklahoma Broadband Expansion Council.
