The Center for Advanced Global Leadership and Engagement has spent the last decade empowering thousands of Spears School of Business students through study abroad programs. In June, CAGLE director Caitlin Kelley will embark on her own international learning journey after earning the prestigious Fulbright International Education Administrators Award.
With this honor, Kelley will travel to South Korea to attend the Fulbright IEA Seminar from June 8-21. While there, Kelley will visit several universities to further build Oklahoma State University’s capacity for international education, gain a cross-cultural perspective and open doors to collaboration with colleagues and students throughout the world.
“I am thrilled for this opportunity,” said Kelley, who has visited upwards of 60 countries during her professional and personal travels. “This is a tremendous opportunity for CAGLE and Spears Business. The Fulbright IEA Seminar is about understanding higher education institutions and ways that we might partner. I would love to think about faculty exchanges, collaborative online international learning and additional ways to infuse global learning into experiences for Spears Business students. Korea has such a dynamic business environment that I think we could learn from.”
During her travels, Kelley also plans to attend the OSU Global alumni gathering in Seoul on June 21.
IEA Awards are two-week funded seminars for U.S. higher education administrators to learn about participating countries’ higher education systems, exchange information on best practices, explore the potential for partnerships with institutions of higher education in the host country and raise the profile of their home institution within the host country and the U.S. participant cohort.
Under Kelley’s leadership, CAGLE coordinates and supports all global activities within Spears Business. CAGLE engages with students, faculty, global alumni, global academic partners, industry leaders and government officials with the goal of preparing Spears Business students for leadership positions in a dynamic global business environment.
Each year, CAGLE coordinates several study abroad courses across the world with Spears Business students in mind. Check out the upcoming study-abroad courses offered by CAGLE.
