The Oklahoma State University Competitive Sales Team enters its 2025-26 season with a winning reputation, a nationally recognized sponsor and growing student involvement.
Each milestone motivates the competitors to seek a greater challenge, and the proof is in their season opener.
The OSU Competitive Sales Team kicks off its schedule Nov. 5-8 in Orlando, Florida, at the prestigious International Collegiate Sales Competition hosted by Florida State University. The ICSC is known as one of the nation’s most challenging intercollegiate sales competitions and the largest, with 80 universities participating on an invitation-only basis.
Comprised of 14 students, the selective OSU Competitive Sales Team is part of the Spears School of Business Center for Sales and Service Excellence, which is experiencing unprecedented growth.
“Each year, the OSU Sales Team raises the bar for what excellence looks like in collegiate sales education,” CSSE Director Whitney Roman said. “Competing among 80 top universities is an honor in itself, but our history of strong finishes has built a national reputation that pushes us to aim even higher. The preparation and teamwork that go into this competition are a testament to the caliber of our students and the strength of the CSSE.”
While the ICSC features several of the nation’s most mature and storied intercollegiate sales programs, the young OSU Competitive Sales Team has rapidly progressed in fewer than two years since its official debut. OSU won its first-ever competition, Selling with the Bulls at the University of South Florida, in February 2024.
Now, the team has back-to-back victories at Selling with the Bulls, which bills itself as “The Toughest Test in Sales Education.” OSU plans to return to Selling with the Bulls in February before entering the National Collegiate Sales Competition in March and the Love’s Competition in April.
This year, Love’s Travel Stops is providing generous support as the CSSE’s top-tier sponsor. The Oklahoma-based company’s recognizable branded logo appears on the OSU Competitive Sales Team’s gear, which members will wear throughout the season.
OSU is making its first appearance as an organized team in the ICSC, which requires advanced skills for challenging cases. Spears Business students Mayce Durham and Lily Hudson will participate in the Role Play Competition, while Megan Hamilton and Haydan Thrash are entering the Sales Management Competition.
With teams from the United States, Canada, Finland and the Netherlands, the ICSC also features a unique networking component. Students can earn tickets to Disney World by networking with various companies on site.
While four OSU team members are individually competing at the ICSC, all are involved in preparing teammates for the event and training for future competitive opportunities.
“The ICSC is one of the most competitive events on the global stage, and our students have been preparing tirelessly for over six weeks,” Roman said. “They’ve worked as a true team, leveraging the strengths of all members to help our four competitors refine their strategies and sharpen their skills. I couldn’t be prouder of how our students continue to elevate OSU’s name and the growing national recognition of our sales program.”
