THE BUS offers free ridership due to extreme heat

Thursday, July 20, 2006

Because of the expected extreme high temperatures forecast for Friday, THE BUS will offer free service to the citizens of Stillwater the entire day. The free service is available on all fixed routes and for Paratransit passengers.

“With record temperatures expected on Friday, we thought it would be a good idea to offer free transportation to get people out of the intense heat and into the comfort of our air-conditioned buses," said Steve Singleton, assistant manager.

Currently, nine transit routes are serving locations on the OSU campus and throughout the Stillwater community. Seven day-time routes run from 6:20 a.m. to 7 p.m. Service operates Monday through Friday.

One-way trip fares for Stillwater residents normally range from $0.50 for the general public to $0.25 for senior citizens, people with disabilities, and persons under 18.
