Featured Expert: Dr. Jami Fullerton

Dr. Jami Fullerton earned her master's and doctorate degrees from the University of North Texas and received her bachelor's in journalism from the University of Oklahoma.
Prior to entering academe, she worked in the advertising industry in Dallas. Fullerton is on the faculty of the School of Journalism and Broadcasting at Oklahoma State University, where she teaches undergraduate advertising and graduate level mass communication courses, including mass communication theory and research methods.
Fullerton's research interests include the portrayal of gender in advertising and cross-cultural communication. She has published studies in academic journals on international and ethnic advertising and advertising education. The OSU College of Arts and Sciences named her outstanding researcher in 2001.
Fullerton, who is the recipient of one State Department grant and a participant in two others, often spends her summers abroad conducting research on cross-cultural communication and media globalization. Currently she serves as the chair of the American Advertising Federation’s Academic Committee and is on the AAF Board of Directors.
A native Oklahoman, Fullerton lives in Tulsa with her husband, Sam Fullerton, and daughter, Helen.
