OSU Board approves personnel actions

The Oklahoma State University/A&M Board of Regents approved several personnel actions during its July 28 meeting at OSU-Oklahoma City.   

Dr. John A. Polonchek, OSU professor of finance, has been named head of the Department of Finance. He received his B.A. from Northwestern University and his M.S.I.M. and Ph.D. degrees from Georgia Institute of Technology. He joined the OSU faculty in 1983.   Polonchek’s professional memberships include the American Finance Association, Eastern Finance Association, Financial Management Association, Southern Finance Association and Western Finance Association. He received the Richard W. Poole Research Excellence Award for 2004-05 from OSU.

Sabbatical


  • William W. Clarkson, civil and environmental engineering, 100% sabbatical to research biodegradation of nitroaromatic compounds used in munitions at the University of Oklahoma-Norman, from Jan. 8-May 4, 2007;
  • Jerry R. Malayer, veterinary medicine, 100% sabbatical to participate in the American Council on Education Fellows Program, from Aug. 21, 2006, to May 4, 2007.

For the OSU Center for Health Sciences, appointments were approved for:

  • Amanda Foster and Janet L. Kirk, both clinical assistant professors, pediatrics;
