OSU Board Approves Personnel Actions

The Oklahoma State University/A&M Board of Regents approved several personnel actions
during its July 28 meeting at OSU-Oklahoma City.
Dr. John A. Polonchek, OSU professor of finance, has been named head of the Department
of Finance. He received his B.A. from Northwestern University and his M.S.I.M. and
Ph.D. degrees from Georgia Institute of Technology. He joined the OSU faculty in 1983.
Polonchek’s professional memberships include the American Finance Association, Eastern
Finance Association, Financial Management Association, Southern Finance Association
and Western Finance Association. He received the Richard W. Poole Research Excellence
Award for 2004-05 from OSU.
APPOINTMENTS: Justin L. Talley, assistant professor, entomology and plant pathology;
Sandor F. Toth, assistant professor, natural resource ecology and management; Christina
Gonzalez, assistant professor, art; Kevin D. Ausman, assistant professor, chemistry;
Lindsey C. Smith, assistant professor, English; Andrew J. Rosa, assistant professor,
history; Eric Benton, assistant professor, physics; Donna K. Lindenmeier, Kimberly
L. Peabody and Michele L. Pettit, assistant professors, applied health and educational
psychology; Anthony J. Cricchio, assistant professor, architecture; Damon Chandler,
Qi Cheng and Weihua Sheng, assistant professors, electrical and computer engineering;
Hira Cho, assistant professor, design, housing and merchandising; Randall R. Russ,
associate professor, design, housing and merchandising; Solo R. Kuvibidila, associate
professor, nutritional sciences; Catherine G. Lamm, clinical instructor, Oklahoma
Animal Disease Diagnostic Lab.
TITLE CHANGES: Kim B. Anderson and Francis M. Epplin, professors of agricultural economics,
appointed to Charles A. Breedlove Professorships; Leticia I. Barchini, from professor
and Southwestern Bell Professor, to professor, mathematics; Weiping Li, from professor
to professor and Southwestern Bell Professor, mathematics; Robert S. Dooley, from
associate professor, associate dean, director of MBA program and Stinchcomb Professor
to associate professor, associate dean and Stinchcomb Professor; Gregory C. Mosier,
from professor and interim dean to professor and Regents Service Professor, economics
and legal studies; David Carter, from associate professor to associate professor and
director, M.B.A. program, finance; Janice W. Jadlow, from associate professor and
head to associate professor and Regents Service Professor, finance; K. Celeste Campbell,
from assistant director, Honors College, to director, Bureau for Social Research.
SABBATICAL: William W. Clarkson, civil and environmental engineering, 100 percent
sabbatical to research biodegradation of nitroaromatic compounds used in munitions
at the University of Oklahoma in Norman, from Jan. 8-May 4, 2007; Jerry R. Malayer,
veterinary medicine, 100 percent sabbatical to participate in the American Council
on Education Fellows Program, from Aug. 21, 2006, to May 4, 2007.
RETIREMENTS: Marvin L. Stone, biosystems and agricultural engineering, Aug. 31; Mary
Y. Mandeville, psychology, Sept. 5; Christine M. Cashel, applied health and educational
psychology, Aug. 4; Charles A. Rich, engineering technology, Aug. 31.
For OSU-Oklahoma City, an appointment was approved for Jennifer L. Duclos as director,
child development center. Michael L. Delong, associate professor and associate vice
president, also was named head of the Department of Information Systems/Technology
Communication; Timothy W. Faltyn, associate professor and division head of general
studies, also was named assistant vice president; and Lisa K. Dillion, associate professor
and division head of public safety, also was named assistant vice president. Pamela
Caldwell, Title III director, has retired.
For the OSU Center for Health Sciences, appointments were approved for Amanda Foster
and Janet L. Kirk, both clinical assistant professors, pediatrics; Brian Diener, assistant
professor, surgery, and for Dan Langley, clinical assistant professor, surgery.
