OSU Regents approve personnel actions, expect to consider budget next week

The Oklahoma State University A&M Board of Regents met today in Okmulgee and approved
a number of personnel matters. The regents typically approve a budget at the June
meeting, but because the legislature went into special session this week to approve
a state budget, the Regents are expected to consider the OSU budget for the 06-07
school year in a special meeting next week.
The regents approved the appointment of two new Regents Professors, Dr. Girish Agarwal,
Noble Foundation Chair and professor of physics, and Dr. Hailin Qu, professor and
William E. Davis Distinguished Chair in Hotel and Restaurant Administration. Their
appointments will take effect July 1. The title of Regents Professor is bestowed to
recognize a scholar of exceptional ability who has made unique contributions and achieved
national and international distinction in several areas within the discipline.
In other action, revisions to the faculty review policy, including the addition of
a cumulative annual review, were approved by the board. See following links for more
