Are beans good for you? Dried and canned beans as well as legumes are excellent sources of protein, beans are low in fat, contain no cholesterol, are high in fiber, and are a good source both of calcium and iron. Because of their high protein content, you can eat beans as a meat alternative. Consider trying a bean-based entrée next week. Wellness tips are brought to you by the OSU Seretean Wellness Center, dedicated to making OSU the Healthiest Campus in America.
