OSU alumnus to head Plum Island

The Department of Homeland Security recently appointed Dr. Lawrence Barrett to serve as director of the Plum Island Animal Disease Center for two years. 

Barrett received his veterinary degree from Oklahoma State University in 1981. He has served as interim director since October 2006.

The Homeland Security Department is in the process of selecting a site to build a facility to replace the Plum Island Animal Disease Center.
