OSU Board Approves Personnel Actions

The Oklahoma State University/A&M Board of Regents approved several personnel actions during its April 20 meeting at Northeastern State University.
 
M. Keith Owens of Texas A& M University has been named professor and head of the newly established OSU Department of Natural Resource Ecology and Management.

Prior to joining the Texas A&M faculty in 1987, he was a principal research technician for six years at Utah State University. He has served as editor-in-chief of “Rangeland Ecology & Management” since 2004.

Owens received his bachelor of science degree from the University of Idaho and his master of science degree from the University of Wyoming, both in range management, and his Ph.D. in range science from Utah State

University. In 2006, he received the Vice Chancellors Award in Excellence for off-campus research and the Outstanding Achievement Award from the Society for Range Management.

      APPOINTMENTS: Garvin Quinn, director, agricultural communications services; Jeremy S. Robinson, assistant professor, agricultural education, communications and 4-H; Andrew N.L. Doust, assistant professor, botany; Rebecca Bensen-Cain, assistant professor, philosophy; Peter J. Rudloff, assistant professor, political science; Scott T. McMurry, professor, appointment confers tenure, zoology; Bilal Erturk, assistant professor, finance; Terry R. Collins, associate professor, appointment confers tenure, industrial engineering; Brenda J. Smith, associate professor, nutritional sciences; Brenda C. Love, assistant professor, Oklahoma animal disease diagnostic lab; Jill D. Brunker, assistant professor, veterinary clinical sciences.

    TITLE CHANGES: Mike Bale, change in title from director, risk and property management, to director, risk and property management, environmental health and safety; Stephen M. Whitworth, change in title from assistant controller/director of university accounting, to associate controller/director of university accounting.  

      SABBATICAL: A.T. Burrell, computer science, 50 percent sabbatical to continue long term research collaboration with Dr. Titsa Panpantoni at the University of Colorado, from Sept. 1, 2007, to May 31, 2008.
 
      RETIREMENTS: John H. Wilguess, accounting, June 4; Thomas D. Jordan, architecture, May 31; David Fournier, human development and family science, July 1; Craig C. Beeby, KOSU, June 30.
For OSU-Oklahoma City, the appointment was approved of Evelyn K. Bollenbach, director, public relations.
For the OSU Center for Health Sciences, a change in title was approved for Robin Dyer from clinical assistant professor to clinical associate professor and vice chair of osteopathic manipulative medicine. David T. John, basic science, will retire June 30.
