Oklahoma State University Interim System CEO & President Marlene Strathe and her husband, John Lowthian, officially kicked off the 2007-08 OSU United Way campaign Wednesday by signing their pledge cards.

“This year, OSU has set a goal of raising $180,000 to support the Stillwater Area United Way,” said Strathe, who is serving as chair of this year’s OSU United Way Campaign.

“OSU has always been an enthusiastic supporter of the United Way, which is so critical to the Stillwater community. The agencies it supports touch the lives of many OSU students, faculty and staff.”

The Stillwater Area United Way has been serving the community since 1952. It supports 26 different agencies and 99% of the money raised in Stillwater stays in the community. The Stillwater Area United Way Campaign runs through Nov. 30 and this year’s total goal is $760,000.
