Friday, April 20, 2007
MUSKOGEE, OK --The OSU/A&M Board of Regents approved the selection today during its
regularly scheduled meeting of an executive recruiting expert to assist the OSU Presidential
Search Committee and Board of Regents in the search process.
The Regents selected Bill Funk with R. William Funk & Associates. Mr. Funk will work
with the search committee to develop the position description, which will address
the responsibilities, education, characteristics and experience required for the position.
In addition, Funk will manage the advertising initiative as well as identify and research
prospective candidates as part of an in-depth process to make sure the most promising
and highest qualified candidates are identified and interviewed.
“We want to make sure the search commitment can efficiently conduct its business,”
OSU/A&M Board of Regents’ Chairman Joe Hall said. “While the decision of who to
hire rests ultimately with the Board of Regents, Mr. Funk’s expertise and experience
will be of great assistance to the committee members as they carry out their important
assignment to identify the best qualified persons for consideration.”
Mr. Funk, who has extensive experience with university presidential searches across
the nation, was previously with Korn/Ferry International and assisted with the last
OSU presidential search.
The Regents approved the $90,000 contact, which goes into immediate effect.
