OSU College of Arts and Sciences welcomes Research Manager

(March 14, 2008  STILLWATER, Okla.) – Jeannie Sneed, a recipient of many national research awards, was named manager of Research Support Services for the College of Arts and Sciences at Oklahoma State University.
 
Sneed will oversee the college’s research office that each year assists about 400 faculty members. In 2007, the office prepared and submitted grants that yielded funding of more than $8.6 million for faculty research and $1.2 million for resident instruction, which helps fund internships and fellowships for students.
 
In 2007, Sneed was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award for Food Safety Education and Research from NSF International, a public health and safety company. She has received more than $2 million from the U.S. Department of Agriculture to fund food safety research projects.
 
Prior to her position at OSU, she served as professor and director of graduate education in the foodservice and lodging management program at Iowa State University. She also served as director of the Division of Applied Research for the National Food Service Management Institute at the University of Southern Mississippi. For nearly 10 years, she served as editor of the “Journal of Child Nutrition & Management.”
 
Sneed earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Oklahoma State University. She earned a doctorate in foodservice systems management from The Ohio State University.
