OSU microchips key to energy independence, defense strategies

Enabling computer technologies to function where they haven’t before has become a key to strategies for U.S. energy independence and reductions in fuel consumption and emissions that won’t cripple the economy. Chris Hutchens, OSU professor of electrical and computer engineering, has developed mixed signal Very Large Scale Integrated circuits for analog devices and microprocessors able to perform at extreme temperatures.
