OSU students earn broadcast honors

Twenty Oklahoma State University School of Journalism and Broadcasting students were recognized at the 2007 Oklahoma Broadcast Education Association awards ceremony last Friday afternoon in Oklahoma City.
 
OSU students won a total of 16 awards, including six first-place honors in the radio and television competitions. Eric Hinson received first-place awards in the categories of Television Commercial and Television Promotional Spot. Eric also was a first-place co-winner with Chris Byers in the category of Radio Commercial.
 
Other first-place winners from OSU were Samantha Pollock for Radio Feature News Story; Katey Letzkus in the category of Radio Hard News Story; and Brett Coldiron and Sarah Harrod in the category of Radio Personality Aircheck.

 At a separate event Friday, the Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters Education Foundation awarded three School of Journalism and Broadcasting students with $2,000 scholarships for the 2008-09 academic year.
 
Jordan Woodruff received the Bill Teegins memorial scholarship, named in honor of the longtime television sports anchor and voice of the OSU Cowboys. Pat Ball was selected to receive the Mark Rawlings memorial scholarship, and Chad Marshall was the recipient of the Stan Forrer scholarship.
