OSU-Tulsa brings accomplished actress Lynn Redgrave to Tulsa

Tuesday, February 26, 2008

(February 26, 2008 TULSA, OK)  – Actress Lynn Redgrave is coming to Tulsa to star in her one-woman play, “Nightingale,” on April 8 at the Chapman Music Hall in Tulsa’s Performing Arts Center.

The event, which begins at 7 p.m., is presented by the Oklahoma Center for Poets and Writers at Oklahoma State University-Tulsa. The award-winning play, written and performed by Redgrave, is loosely based on stories about the actress’ grandmother.

In addition to the play, Tulsa’s PAC Gallery will display an exhibit by Redgrave’s daughter, Annabel Clark. The exhibit features photographs and journal entries documenting Redgrave’s battle with and ultimate recovery from breast cancer.

“This event is truly something special,” said Teresa Miller, executive director of the Center. “It's a rare opportunity to look behind the stage curtain and meet Lynn Redgrave herself, a cancer survivor and devoted mother, who’s as inspiring as any of the great heroines she has ever played."

Tickets for the play are $30 and go on sale March 3. To order tickets, call the Tulsa PAC box office at 918-596-7111 or order online by visiting www.tulsapac.com .

Clark’s exhibit, which is free and open to the public, will be on display during the month of April on weekdays from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and during all PAC events. The exhibit is also sponsored by the Center for Poets and Writers and OSU-Tulsa.

The PAC is located at Second Street and Cincinnati Avenue in downtown Tulsa. For more information, call Miller at 918-594-8215.
