Oklahoma City psychology sophomore
White organized a team of Kappa Alpha Thetas to volunteer at the Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) annual fundraiser event. She put about 45 girls to work a silent auction table, assist the dance performers, work the sign-in table, and work the coat room. She even wrote the script for the hosts to read throughout the night. She worked very hard to make sure everything ran smoothly on the big night.
"Volunteering is a small gesture to impact the world in a big way. It's an easy thing that everyone can do to improve other's lives," she said.
The OSU Service-Learning Volunteer Center, located in 030B Student Union, promotes the interaction of volunteer work and education. Last year, more than 8,500 OSU students volunteered more than 60,000 hours in the community. Each week the center will present a Servant Leadership Award to an outstanding OSU student volunteer.
