OSU Board approves personnel actions

(LANGSTON, OK – December 4, 2009) – The Oklahoma State University/A&M Board of Regents
approved several personnel actions during its Dec. 4 meeting at Langston University
in Langston.
Christopher T. Ramsay, art professor, was named head of the Department of Art. He
received his B.F.A. degree from the University of Michigan and an M.F.A. degree from
Texas Tech University, with studies focused in the area of jewelry and metals.
Before joining the OSU faculty in 1990, he taught 3D design and jewelry/metals as
a visiting professor at Texas Tech University, University of Michigan, University
of Illinois, Purdue University and San Diego State University. At OSU, he was awarded
the College of Arts and Sciences Wise, Diggs, Berry Award for Excellence in Teaching.
APPOINTMENTS: Kao-Wen Chang, research assistant professor, applied health and educational
psychology.
CHANGES: Michael R. Dicks, agricultural economics professor, appointed to the Wes
and Lou Watkins Endowed Chair for International Trade and Development; Jeretta H.
Nord, title change from professor and Riata Professor of Entrepreneurship to professor,
management science and information systems; Susan L. Stansberry, title change from
associate professor to associate professor and associate director, educational studies;
Krishnan R. Vaidyanathan, general engineering professor, appointment to Herrington
Professorship of Materials Science and Engineering, HATRC.
RETIREMENTS: Stanley E. Gilliland, animal science, Dec. 31; Anthony A. Echelle, zoology,
Dec. 31; Beulah M. Hirschlein, human development and family sciences, Feb. 1, 2010.
For OSU-Oklahoma City, the appointment was approved for Danny R. Swain, instructor
and head, electronics and environmental technology. A title change was approved for
Heather R. Kay, from director to assistant vice president, business and industry relations.
The retirement was accepted for Catreana L. Bennett, business and industry relations,
Oct. 9.
For the OSU Center for Health Sciences, an appointment was approved for Dianne H.
Cunningham, director, admissions. Title changes were approved for Brian C. Diener,
from assistant professor to assistant professor and vice chair, surgery; for Michael
L. Thomas, from clinical assistant professor to clinical assistant professor and chair,
surgery; and for Barbara B. Miller, from program director to director of Research
Operations and Graduate Studies and IRB administrator.
