Participants at the Tenth International Conference on Web Handling get a tour of OSU's
Web Handling Research Center. The center is the only center of its type in the world,
and is the oldest continuing center originated as a National Science Foundation Industry
University Cooperative Research Center in 1986. The WHRC studies materials produced
in “web” form, which are thin, flexible and continuous sheets. All sorts of familiar
consumer products including newsprint paper towels and adhesive tapes are made in
web processes in an attempt to automate manufacturing, reduce waste and lower associated
labor costs.
