OSU Professor to present program on managing difficult people

(April 15, 2009   Stillwater, OK) – For expert advice on how to deal with difficult work relationships, business and government professionals are encouraged to attend “Managing Difficult People: ‘Working with You is Killing Me’” on Tuesday April 21, 2009, from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. at OSU-Tulsa presented by Mac McCrory, an adjunct instructor for the Department of Economic and Legal Studies in Business in the Spears School of Business at Oklahoma State University.

McCrory is an outstanding motivational speaker on a variety of topics, including leadership, team building, communication, conflict management, quality aging, exercise behavior, care for the caregiver, Time Care™, Stress Ease™, wellness program development, and health care cost containment.  McCrory currently teaches OSU graduate courses in Negotiation and Alternative Dispute Resolution, and also has over 25 years of service in the OSU system.

“We all deal with difficult people – people who are different from us,” McCrory said. “We are engaged with these people is every aspect of our life. Learning the skills necessary to deal with people in the right way helps us appropriately manage or coach our work team and relate to everyone in our life more effectively.”

This program will help participants learn to identify various personality issues, how to develop necessary skills to deal with difficult people in and how to apply this practical knowledge to a practical outcome.  Participants will also be able to earn 0.6 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) upon completion of this seminar.

The OSU Management and Professional Development Seminars is a series of programs that address relevant topics and issues in the workplace and help educate people in proper leadership and development. The seminars are offered by the OSU Center for Executive and Professional Development.

“Dr. McCrory knows how to deal with difficult personalities,” said Cindy Barrick, CEPD Program Coordinator.  “With his expertise and knowledge on the subject, those who attend will benefit greatly from this program.”
