OSU student wins Outstanding Graduate Student Award

(STILLWATER, Ok., April 10, 2009) – Oklahoma State University Housing and Residential Life’s Residence Director Amanda Mollet has won the American College Personnel Association’s (ACPA) Outstanding Graduate Student Award.

This award is given to a current master’s degree student in a higher education or student affairs related program.  The recipient of this award will have made a positive contribution (either through research or service to the profession) to the field of student affairs and/or has made significant contributions to her graduate program and institution.  Amanda was nominated by Dr. John Foubert of the College of Education.

Amanda, who is from Casper, Wyoming, is a third-year master’s student in the College of Education’s College Student Development Program.  She recently received first place for Most Creative Video and second place for Most Educational Video in the studentaffairs.com 2009 Case Study Competition.  Last year, Amanda was advisor when OSU hosted the four-day 2008 NACURH (National Association of College and University Residence Halls) Conference that attracted more than 2,000 students from 250 schools. 

OSU Housing and Residential Life houses more than 4,800 students in twenty-four residences halls, and offers three types of housing options: community style halls, suites, and apartments.  The department employs 50 full-time and 300 part-time workers, and offers more than 350 student leadership positions.
