(Stillwater, OK August 26, 2009) - Two Oklahoma State University students Abron Medcalf
and Jenna Browne were named the number one Oklahoma interns for Enterprise Rent-A-Car
this summer.
Medcalf, a marketing junior from Broken Arrow, won in June, and Browne, a health and
human performance junior from Durant, was named the top intern in July.
“We are so proud of both Abron and Jenna,” said Pam Ehlers, director of OSU Career
Services. “Their work ethic further demonstrates the quality of employees that OSU
produces for business and industry in Oklahoma and across the country.”
Medcalf, who is also a part-time employee for OSU Career Services, interned at Enterprises’s
Tulsa location. Browne, an OSU Foundation employee, worked at the Stillwater and Edmond
locations.
The pair distinguished themselves from other interns by showcasing their marketing,
sales, and customer service skills through work with corporate accounts, insurance
partners, and rental customers. The intern program mirrors Enterprise’s Management
Training program, so interns have the same responsibilities as management trainees.
“Internships help prepare college students for the world of work, and they should
be seen as an integral part of the academic program for every student,” said Ehlers.
“The majority of students seek internships within or during the summer of the sophomore
and junior years of college. Students should plan to intern with employers who are
doing the kind of work they are interested in pursuing after graduation.”
Both students found their internships through OSU Career Services’ Web site, http://www.HireOSUgrads.com.
