OSU/A&M Regents Approve Personnel Actions

(STILLWATER, OK., Sept. 11, 2009) -- Several personnel actions were approved during
the Oklahoma State University/A&M Board of Regents meeting on Sept. 11 on OSU’s Stillwater
campus.
Nine faculty members were approved for the 2009 Regents Distinguished Teaching Award,
and eight faculty members were approved for the 2009 Regents Distinguished Research
Award. They will be recognized during the OSU Convocation later this fall.
Recipients of the Regents Distinguished Teaching Awards are Thomas C. Hennessey, natural
resource ecology and management; James O. Puckette, geology; Karen McBee, zoology;
Tracy A. Suter, marketing; Susan Stansberry, educational studies; Daniel E. Fisher,
mechanical and aerospace engineering; Hailin Qu, hotel and restaurant administration;
James E. Breazile, physiological sciences; and Kent S. Smith, anatomy and cell biology,
OSU Center for Health Sciences.
Recipients of the Regents Distinguished Research Awards are Brett F. Carver, plant
and soil sciences; Warren T. Ford, chemistry; John M. Chaney, psychology; Rathindra
Sarathy, management science and information systems; Gary G. Yen, electrical and computer
engineering; Brenda J. Smith, nutritional sciences; Stanley E. Grogg, pediatrics,
OSU Center for Health Sciences; and David R. Wallace, research office, OSU Center
for Health Sciences.
APPOINTMENTS: Michael D. Buser, assistant professor, biosystems and agricultural engineering;
Li Ma, assistant professor, entomology and plant pathology; Louise E. Siddons, assistant
professor, art; Mark Fishbein, assistant professor, botany; Nicole Rizzuto, assistant
professor, English; Erik Ekman, assistant professor, foreign languages; Priyank Jaiswal,
assistant professor, geology; Wayne M. Wanta, professor and Welch-Bridgewater Chair
in Sports Journalism, appointment grants tenure, journalism and broadcasting; Yingmei
Liu, assistant professor, physics; Eve M. Ringsmuth, assistant professor, political
science; Daniel I.J. Archibald and Rana J. Webber, clinical instructors, theatre;
Justin W. Webb, assistant professor, entrepreneurship; Lincoln A. Gibbs and Eric D.
Ryan, assistant professors, applied health and educational psychology; Julie M. Angle
and Adrie A. Redmond, assistant professors, teaching and curriculum leadership; Jared
D. Taylor, assistant professor, pathobiology; Christopher W. Young, head coach, women’s
tennis.
CHANGES: Mark Z. Johnson, associate professor, animal science, appointed to Dr. Robert
Totusek Chair in Animal Science.
SABBATICAL: Nicholas C. Romano, associate professor, management science and information
systems, 100 percent sabbatical to serve as visiting professor at Bocconi School of
Management in Milan, Italy, including teaching, research, service and publications,
from Jan. 4-June 30, 2010.
RETIREMENTS: Clement E. Ward, agricultural economics, Sept. 30.
For OSU Institute of Technology, a promotion from nursing administrator to division
chair, allied health sciences, was approved for Jana S. Martin; a title change was
approved for Jennifer L. Block from instructor to director and instructor, orthotics
and prosthetics. The retirement of Jerry D. Wilson, small business occupations, was
accepted July 31.
For OSU-Oklahoma City, appointments were approved for Jose Pedro T. Leite, associate
vice president, academic affairs; Keila C. Whitaker, registrar, admissions and records;
Jacqueline M. Artmayer, assistant professor, computer information systems/technology
communications; Marjory E. Cox, Gayla K. Florence-Clark and Thingal G. Masar, instructors,
health sciences; Terry L. Clinefelter, instructor, industrial drafting and design;
Amber R. Hefner, instructor, management studies; Ricky W. Streight, instructor, mathematics;
and Steven E. Collins, instructor, social studies. Title changes were approved for
C. Jane Frederick, from associate professor and head to associate professor, mathematics;
and for Nancy B. Shuman-Miller, from associate professor to associate professor and
head, social studies. Retirement was accepted from Scott D. Millington, architecture
and construction technologies, July 31; Jerry Brooks, vice president, business, Aug.
31; and Joe A. Wilkie, management studies, July 31.
For the OSU Center for Health Sciences, appointments were approved for Lance T. Frye
and Heather D. Rector, clinical assistant professors, pediatrics.
